Check out these amazing animal sculptures made out of louis vuitton bags

lv1In honor of a new Louis Vuitton flagship opening in Sydney, Australia, British artist Billie Achilleo created a set of animals made entirely out of Vuitton handbags and accessories. And not just any animals–a kangaroo, a koala bear and a crocodile; which, as far as I know with my TV-based knowledge of Australian wildlife, are native to the country/continent. Her creations are so elaborate and detailed, it’s hard to believe they’re real, but they are.
It’s also not the first time the brand has collaborated with Achilleo on animal sculptures. She created an armadillo, a grasshopper, a chameleon and a beaver earlier this year to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Louis Vuitton SLG Savoir Faire collection. Louis-Vuitton-x-Billie-Achilleos-5

Object of Desire: Prada Nylon Knapsack

Understated & uncommonly chic, this slouchy, multi-pocketed bag changed the way the fashion world thought of backpacks (previously the province of Alpine hikers & fifth graders!) In the mid-90s in NYC, the bags (and their many knockoffs) were so omnipresent on everyone's back that it made walking around parties & subway cars a little difficult

Fashion Icon: Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn, Actress
Why? Because window-shoppin and munching a croissant will never again be that elegant. neither will a black turtleneck with black cigarette pants. A little black dress that she wore in Breakfast with Tiffany's sold at action for nearly a million dollars- & the proceeds built a school for improvised children in India. (and because being an humanitarian is always in style)

Everything You Need to Know About Today’s Top Fashion Photographers

In the world of fashion there is a small yet consistent collection of photographers who get the majority of work for major publications and brands. In fact, many of them seem to have quite the monopoly on the fashion world. Legends like Richard Avedon and Irving Penn continued to work prolifically up until the time they passed away, and that seems to be what is so great about being behind the camera instead of in front of it. Top photographers are given the chance to work for years in an industry where most figures are in one day and out the next.
But how do you differentiate one top photographer from another? You'll see what to look for from visual style, what publications they regularly appear in, as well as recent ongoing collaborations with brands and models of some of the top working fashion photographers of today. enjoy!

Report: Marc Jacobs Turns Down Dior For Good (and So Did Everyone Else)

Marc Jacobs is not going to Dior.
A source close to the situation tells us Jacobs “declined” the job for good sometime in “mid November.” LVMH reportedly approached Jacobs about taking the reigns at Dior in July after Bill Gaytten showed his critically-slammed couture collection for the house. Jacobs seemed a shoe-in for the job. But negotiations between LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault, Dior president Sidney Toledano and Jacobs fell apart over money and the reorganization of Jacobs’ team. According to a source, Jacobs wanted to bring his team from Vuitton to Dior and “transfer the aesthetic from one house to another” (which might explain the dramatic shift towards a more girly aesthetic in Jacobs’ spring collection for Vuitton). As WWD reported earlier this month, that would leave Vuitton, LVMH’s cash cow, in the lurch, with the conglomerate’s other design star, Phoebe Philo, unwilling to leave Céline to replace Jacobs at Vuitton.

Louis Vuitton Exhibition

Few designers ever reach the fame and influence of Marc Jacobs, a designer equally coveted by starlets and socialites, museums and thieves. Just after news broke that bandits made off with his spring press samples bound for London, word comes from France that five masked crooks managed to steal ten pallets of Louis Vuitton merch from Charles de Gaulle airport—a heist valued at $400,000.
But it isn’t all bad news for Jacobs. This spring, the designer will be honored by Les Arts Décoratifs, the Parisian museum dedicated to art and design. Opening March 6, the epic exhibition explores how the brand’s founder and its Jacobs each put their mark on the luxury label. From LV’s roots in 19th-century France as Empress Eugénie's favored travel bags to its current status as one of fashion’s chicest labels and the world’s most knocked-off monogram, the exhibition will explore how the two designers set the pace of fashion in the face of the industrial and digital revolutions.
The show is the second retrospective for the designer in as many years, coming on the heels of the Kate Grand-curated Louis Vuitton: Art of Fashion at La Triennale di Milano. We presume security will be very tight.

EMMA WATSON’S LANCOME FILM

Emma Watson’s Lancome filmELLE cover star Emma Watson's Lancome TV advert is finally ready to watch, months after we first told you she was filming it in Paris.
Emma Watson was signed to the beauty giant as an ambassador back in February and her first role for the brand is as the face of its new scent Tresor Midnight Rose.
And the former Harry Potter star isn't just a pretty face, as she told Avril Mair in this month's ELLE. 'Lancome was taken aback by how much input I wanted to have. But I would never just put my name on something. It's more interesting to have a genuine involvement with a brand, rather than showing up on the day and looking pretty.'
Emma was involved in many areas, from helping with the scent's name and tag line, 'Catch my heart if you can', to choosing the colour of the rose. The actress also helped with the film's concept (inspired by Jean-Luc Godard's Breathless) and casting her 'love interest' actor Cyril Descours. 'I was very involved in the script. It’s been really fun for me.'
Emma Watson follows a long line of established and well respected stars to sign to the French beauty brand including Julia Roberts, Penelope Cruz and Kate Winslet. 'As much as I do love fashion, I'm an actress first and foremost. Lancome represents great actresses and that appealed to me'.
The fragrance is the latest addition to the Tresor family. The original launched back in 1952, with another more successful scent with the same name launching in 1990, before Trésor in Love in 2010. The latest, Tresor Midnight Rose includes notes of rose absolute, raspberry, jasmine, peony, blackcurrant bud absolute and pink pepper.
Of the fragrance Emma has said it's 'addictive, it's warm, it's playful, it's sweet, it's everything I hoped it would be. I didn't really like perfumes before because I thought they were heavy, but this one is really light and playful.'
Tresor Midnight Rose is on sale now
